On February 8, 2021 there were less than one million people in the U.S who were fully vaccinated. In April this year there was an outbreak which caused more people to get vaccinated.  Now there are a total of twenty one million people who are fully vaccinated.  The vaccine has got a lot of attention recently resulting in news articles spreading about the effects of the vaccine.  Some people have said that it can cause fertility issues, which has been proven to be false by the scientists studying and working on the vaccine. They have tested this by giving pregnant women a vaccine, and they have given birth to healthy babies. It’s important for people to know the facts and be well informed on all the effects of the vaccine.

Anyone over the age of 12 is eligible to take the vaccine. Recent studies have shown that people who have previously had Covid-19, later get vaccinated have a greater effect from the vaccine. After testing positive for Covid-19 it’s required to wait 2 weeks before getting vaccinated.   Anytime after that will result in getting more benefits from the vaccine. There have also been studies where they compare someone who’s got the vaccine but hasn’t previously had covid vs those who got vaccinated and got the vaccine after.

Recently there has been a new variant of the virus that is affecting a lot of people. With more and more people getting vaccinated, and less people getting the original covid, it caused for a new version of the virus.  This is what’s been affecting people, even those who have already been vaccinated.  After the peak in February cases dropped and were really low around the months of May and June. With the new outbreak cases are now over 100,000 more than they were just two months ago.
